I fell into the public relations and marketing world by accident. As a social work and human services major, I had the grandiose (and naive idea) that I would save the world, help the homeless, assist the afflicted. When I was a junior at Old Dominion University and had completed more than half of the social welfare program, I realized that—although my heart was in it—my personality wasn’t the right fit.

As the child that brought home stray animals and stray friends  while growing up, I gained a deeper understanding of myself and accepted that I would be a hot mess if I entered that field—which left me wondering what the heck I would do.

Being the go get ‘em, problem solving gal that I am, I figured that real life experience and networking would have to suffice. So during the summer of my junior year and my entire senior year I interned at the regional Chamber of Commerce and began learning the careful craft of marketing and public relations.

That experience and the people that I have met along the way have shaped me into a seasoned and very savvy public relations and marketing professional, published freelance writer who can plan one heck of a party.

Let me know how I can help you.
